Feel the impact of your space before ever breaking ground
Seeing is believing. Unreal Engine brings your projects to life in Virtual Reality. We help you take your designs in Revit and create stunning VR and AR environments that your clients can interact in.
Video games are no longer just for kids
Our Unreal Engine services bring your projects to life.
Over the past years they had become incredibly realistic and complex. In this article, we will explore how to use "Unreal Engine" (a game development environment ) to visualize and experience architectural models that are very far from being built.
The immersive characteristics of these new platforms bring users to a new level of sensations when they visit those spaces.
Why use Unreal?
Life like videos of your projects before they are built
Unreal can help you create stunning videos of your projects before you construct them allowing your clients to hone in on details of their space before ever breaking ground.
Visualize and hone layouts during the design phase
Hone in on how your space's interior will look while designing. Holistically encompassing your interior design will create a more experiential project.
Experiment with different conditions easily
You can use the environment to experiment with different conditions such as the amount of light your rooms will have during night and day.
Want to try it yourselfLearn how you can export Revit models directly to Unreal yourself
In this article, we will explore how to use "Unreal Engine" (a game development environment ) to visualize and experience architectural models that are very far from being built.
Technical details of our pipeline
- Revit 2019
- Unreal Datasmith Exporter for Revit
- Unreal Engine 4
- Oculus Go
- Python
Export from Revit Using Datasmith
Next, we export a 3D view in Revit using a Datasmith Plugin. Datasmith plugins allow exporting 3D models from many platforms into Unreal Engine.
Example output
From "good-quality" to Incredible
Once all the data is on Unreal it is time to make it shine by replacing textures, adjusting lights, adding elements and correcting others.
Automating the "Hustle"
Fortunately Both unreal and Revit have great APIs so all the process described can be completely automated. As an example, we included a small snippet of how to replace material form the original texture to a photorealistic one.
